 Jikishinkan kihon exercises and katas

There are many classical katas (form of practise) in the Jikishin Kage-ryu Kenjutsu style. These are rooted from the era of Yamada Heizaemon and his son, Naganuma Kunisato Shirozaemon. These forms are practiced in the most cases at traditional Jikishin Kage-ryu Kenjutsu clubs.
In addition, people who follow the teachings of sensei Suzuki Kimiyoshi learn so-called Jikishinkan (previously Shinbukan) katas and other practicing forms too.


Jikishinkan kihon exercises and katas are those tought practicing forms which are created by sensei Suzuki Kimiyoshi and those are also in the exam material included. They are as follows:

Kihon keiko (基本稽古):

  • Happo Ido (八方移動)

  • Bonten (梵天)

  • Uchikomi 1 (打ち込み 一)

  • Uchikomi 2 (打ち込み 二)

  • Ryubi Uchikomi (龍尾打ち込み)

 

Kata (形):

  • Inazuma (稲妻)

  • Inazuma Uradori (稲妻 裏取り)

  • Inazuma Batto (稲妻 抜刀)

  • Juppon 1 (十本一)

  • Juppon 2 (十本二)

  • Juppon 2 Batto (十本二抜刀)

  • Juppon 3 (十本三)

  • Urafune Iai (浦舟居合)

    • Urafune Ushiro (浦舟 後)

    • Urafune Mae (浦舟 前)

    • Urafune Yoko (浦舟 横)
